Palacio del Carmen
Welcome to Palacio del Carmen
Palacio del Carmen stands as a distinguished jewel in Santiago de Compostela, seamlessly blending history and modern luxury. Visitors are drawn to the hotel’s quiet location, providing a peaceful refuge just a short walk from the Cathedral and the vibrant heart of the city.
The design respects the building’s rich past while embracing stylish touches, creating an atmosphere that is both inviting and sophisticated. Guests frequently highlight the exceptionally comfortable beds and spacious rooms, though some note a gentle hint of dated decor, which hardly diminishes the overall charm. The attentive and warm staff add a genuine layer of hospitality, making each stay feel personalized and welcoming.
Culinary experiences at Palacio del Carmen are equally memorable. The breakfast hall, adorned with a stunning mural, sets a tranquil yet elegant scene for morning meals. Their famed Tarte de Santiago, freshly prepared without preservatives, offers a true taste of local tradition, far superior to typical tourist treats. Nearby, The Gaia restaurant earns praise as a culinary highlight, enriching the overall visit.

Amazingly comfortable beds in a 5 star, conveniently located a bit away from the tourist spots.
Really love the hotel, they preserved the elements of the previous monastery and it feels like a medieval retreat with a modern sense of luxury! I really enjoyed the breakfast too, the breakfast hall has a beautiful mural on the wall. I bought their tarte de santiago which is freshly made on site, and don’t have preservatives like the ones you get in the Santiago town centre! There is a small and functional pool. The breakfast buffet was AMAZING! I had so many tortillas and iberico ham
Great Marriott Hotel! Very comfortable and stylish, lovely part of Santiago and easy walking distance to the Cathedral. Visit The Gaia restaurant which is close by, the best food I ever eat in my life!
Lovely hotel but not 5 stars, rooms are dated but clean
Really welcoming and friendly front desk and house keeping staff. I love the unique design and layout of the hotel and the salt water pool was refreshing and relaxing.
